December 2019 - Celebrate the Season with Christmas at The Keeter Center!

The spirit of Christmas fills the air as The Keeter Center welcomes you to enjoy a memorable holiday experience with us.

Guests of all ages are invited to celebrate the birth of Christ with a host of special events right here on the campus of College of the Ozarks.

When you dine, shop, or stay at The Keeter Center, you’re supporting the gift of a debt-free college education for our hardworking student staff members. You’re also helping us fulfill our unique five-fold mission, which consists of Academic, Vocational, Cultural, Patriotic, and Christian goals.

Here are some of the ways you and your loved ones can become a part of our Christmas tradition here at Hard Work U.®!

Chocolate Lovers’ Tea

November 30 and December 21, 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Relax with an assortment of hot teas near the grand fireplace in The Keeter Center lobby.

The menu includes delicious tea sandwiches, pastries, and scones, with live music to create the perfect afternoon ambiance.

Celebrate the Christmas season by bringing an ornament of your choice for a fun and friendly ornament exchange.

The cost is $35 for ages 12 and older, $17.50 for ages 3-11, and includes tax and service charge.

Tree Lighting

December 6, 5 p.m.

Welcome the sounds of the season as we light the Christmas tree in The Keeter Center lobby!

The College of the Ozarks Chorale will be on hand to perform traditional Christmas carols. An auditioned student ensemble led by Dr. John Cornish, assistant professor of music at C of O, the Chorale has performed across America and around the world.

You’ll also be treated to the soothing taste of warm cider and the familiar scent of fresh evergreens.

Concert Band Performance

December 6, 7 p.m.

After the Tree Lighting, keep the festive spirit going with a performance by the College of the Ozarks Concert Band.

A wind ensemble comprised of C of O students, the Concert Band performs a variety of repertoire both on- and off-campus. The band is directed by Dr. Kevin Powers, assistant professor of music at C of O.

This free performance takes place in the Royal Oak Forum at The Keeter Center.

Christmas Brunch

December 22 and 29

Guests will be treated to a wide assortment of creative culinary delights, served in a grandiose style by C of O students amidst the rustic elegance of The Keeter Center.

Celebrate with loved ones while enjoying personalized omelets and waffles, award-winning College of the Ozarks smoked ham, the finest desserts display in the Ozarks, and more

The cost is $40 for ages 13 and older, $20 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.

Holiday Dining All Season Long

Savor a unique farm-to-table holiday dining experience at the Dobyns Dining Room, Monday through Saturday at The Keeter Center.

Enjoy a full menu of one-of-a-kind recipes featuring campus-raised meats and vegetables, all meticulously prepared and served by students from the C of O culinary arts program.

When it’s time for dessert, choose from a variety of cookies and pastries from the bakery or a scoop of delicious Nettie Marie’s Homemade Ice Cream, made with fresh milk from the campus dairy!

Student-Made Gifts from Hard Work U.®

Stop by the Beulah Winfrey Gift Shop inside The Keeter Center to find world-famous student-made products from College of the Ozarks.

Unique items for the home include hand-poured candles, pottery, textiles, handwoven baskets, and stained glass decorations. Popular edible gifts include mouth-watering C of O Fruitcake, fruit spreads, milled grains, and The Keeter Center’s famous Pear-Honey Dressing.
